Allie + Nate

It’s so hard to believe this wedding was over a year ago. It’s one of my favorite weddings of my entire career and I’m thrilled to share it here in its entirety today. If you caught our relaunch last week and had time to explore the new website you may have watched a fun little behind the scenes video from an event of ours in 2016. This was that very event and it’s truly a beautiful one at that! You’ll see what I mean when you see the imagery shared here.

Allie and Nate were married at Arcadia Bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan on a picturesque midwest fall day that started off with rain and ended with the most gorgeous sunset (typical). Friends and family from across the country made their way to the loveliest part of the mitten and celebrated with our couple under a clear top tent adorned with industrial chic chandeliers, fresh foliage, and custom draped panels. A three course fall menu and delectable dessert table (and trio of cakes!) from Sweet Heather Anne, kept guests’ bellies full while a rocking Lorio Ross band made sure the dance floor kept full all night too.

A color palette of soft pink, ivory, and taupe bridged together with darker plums, navy blue and rose gold marked the end of summer while symbolizing the start of fall. We used Michigan grown dahlia, pear and pomegranate branches from local farms, and wild berries for texture in the arrangements. Rose gold touches were infused throughout the wedding as a nod to Allie’s rose gold engagement ring. From the foil monogram on the invitation envelope flap (penned to perfection by Moya Minns) and stunning rose gold flatware we used this mixed material wherever we could to add depth and dimension. Wood farmhouse tables paired together with tables covered in satin and sequin linens created an elegant but approachable wedding experience that guests were still raving about as they were heading out the door at the end of the evening.

To Allie and Nate, and both of your kind and incredibly gracious families, planning and designing this event was a highlight of 2016 for me. You treated me, my team and my family with such kindness and respect, and with that we were able to do what we do best and make this special milestone truly count. Robin! I miss our almost daily phone calls and will always remember you with such fondness and joy. And to all of the hard working vendors who contributed to this wedding in your own different capacity, it was a pleasure and honor. Weddings like these are the best part of this job and we count our blessings when they come our way.

Enjoy all of the scans from our friends over at Jen & Jonah.
