I’ve been patiently waiting since March to share this editorial project done in partnership with Southern Weddings Magazine and Jake + Heather. Now that the project is in print on newsstands in the 10th issue (it’s beautiful!) I can officially share all of the stunning imagery and intentional details. Getting to be a part of anything with one of the most impactful magazines on the market is both a pleasure and an honor so I share the following with a lot of gratitude.

The concept behind our efforts? A tenth year anniversary vow renewal with a couple that more than anything values marriage, tradition, celebration, and legacy. The project was meant to parallel themes with the anniversary issue and with a team of veteran vendors on board (many who themselves have been married for years) this was an endeavor that meant a lot to everyone involved. Set on a rooftop space in downtown Raleigh we wanted a classic, neutral feel with elegant details but a sense of approachability too. The goal was to infuse details throughout that celebrated our couple’s love story and decade of marriage. You’ll catch peeks of the number 10 and the roman numeral for it throughout the images. We also included lots of silver and metallic as a nod to the tenth year gift of tin. And ten mini cakes for dessert? Maybe you’ll catch that too!

If you picked up your own copy yet, you will have also had the pleasure of enjoying the copy I wrote that went hand in hand with this back of the book project. It was truly a pleasure to contribute to such a special issue in both a written and creative capacity, and I’m grateful to team Southern Weddings for always including my creative vision.
