A Pointe Aux Barques Wedding for Eloise & Bo

If Nancy Meyers was a florist, I think she would be me. Perhaps I would be her. Same thing, same thing.

One sunny but brisk Saturday mid-June of 2024 my team and I had the pleasure of getting up before the sun and travelling four hours directly east from Grand Rapids to the very tip of Michigan’s thumb in Pointe Aux Barques. We were invited by Ann Travis to be a part of Eloise and Bo’s wedding day, and while the plans leading up to the wedding were expectedly nothing but lovely and inspiring, we didn’t quite realize until we landed on the ground that June morning, just how magical Pointe Aux Barques is and how special this day would come to be.

For 14 years I’ve, even if more privately, stood by the sentiment that there’s a specialness to simplicity. There’s a likelihood that my stance seeps a little with hypocrisy given that my very profession is to ensure the work we do for clients is both impressive and memorable, sometimes on a scale that feels well, anything BUT simple. Yet, the balance between plain and pretentious is where we landed here, every splash of color, each heirloom Pointe Aux Barques embroidered decor item, and all details considered. It’s a harmonious soft spot we hope to revisit time and time again as we cherish both the pleasure and honor of helping people celebrate their milestones in the most beautiful, yet personalIzed, way possible. I think after looking through the images below, that you’ll agree, there’s a rich story here to tell, or more importantly, that it’s one you’ll be delighted to get to listen to.

Ann, thanks for always bringing us on board with your clients and allowing me to incorporate our ideas into your vision. Sean, I can’t imagine anyone else capturing this wedding as magically as you did. I want to put every single photograph into an album to feature on my living room coffee table but I know that would be really weird so don’t worry, Eloise! I’ll resist. And Eloise, Bo, your families, friends, and neighbors, some of whom have lived and celebrated in PAB for generations, making the sacredness of this weekend even more remarkable, thank for you your hospitality, warmth, friendliness, and trust. Please know that if the floral patterned couch in the clubhouse ever needs a new home, I’ve got one immediately available in Rockford.

Enjoy the wedding day of Eloise and Bo with this collection of my personal favorite images.
