We are no strangers to the magic of Lake Macatawa.
A small body of water nestled into the west side of Holland, Michigan – that feeds into the Big Lake – it’s dotted with incredible craftsman cottages and homes, many which have been in families for multiple generations. Over the years we’ve been a part of a handful of backyard weddings overlooking this very water, each incredibly special in its own capacity. But Allie and Louis’ August celebration holds a tender place in our hearts being the most recent in our repertoire, a colorful and cheerful celebration that for us, brought the essence of summertime-in-Michigan to life. A few notable details? Two different sailcloth tents needed to accommodate the property’s unique lot lines, a very large team of trusted professionals who made the execution of this party so enjoyable, and more than 11 farms helping our team find 1200+ locally grown stems of orange and peach zinnias (success!). Oh! And RB Soap Co. favors for every guest to take home and enjoy! Any chance where my two companies can collide is one that brings joy.
So much gratitude needs to be publicly declared for my colleague and friend Lindsay from Paper Hat Weddings. Lindsay was Allie and Louis’ trusted wedding planner and was steadfast in handling the multiple (big) changes we made throughout the year+ planning and design process. Lindsay continues to serve as the yin to my yang, the planning and logistics maven with endless support for the design experience and talents I get to bring to the table in addition to our team’s floral work. Without her I don’t get to do my best work, the creative work that gets me the most excited. Lindsay, the trust you put in me means so much and I can’t wait to continue our professional relationship with future shared contracts and clients.
And to Allie and Louis. Thank you for trusting us and believing in our vision from the very start of our relationship together. For letting us take the smallest of ideas and concepts to turn them into what ended up being one of the most incredible days in your lives. It’s impossible to pick a favorite detail so I will have to settle and simply say all of it. It’s all my favorite. We’d do it all again.
Enjoy my favorite images from one sunny Saturday in August, taken by Arielle Teft Photography.
